On sailboats the backstay adjuster enables the crew to precisely adjust and control the forestay tension. Control equates with optimum performance of foresail and guarantees smooth operation of a furling system. When not under the sail, the backstay adjuster permits the release of tension on the rig, thereby helping to prolong the life of the rigging and fittings.
Two versions of the smaller size are available - one with a wheel and, another with a folding handle which works like a ratchet for precise and frequent adjustments. The larger size is made with integrated ratchet system which is strong, quick and easy to use.
