Stainless Steel

Wichard uses two top-quality grades of stainless steel in its products (see chart). The first type is a low carbon austenitic steel (316 L and 305 Cu), which offers good mechanical characteristics. They are non-magnetic steels, and most of Wichard's products are manufactured in this grade. The second (17.4 PH) is a martensitic steel (magnetic). It is called high-resistance steel (HR). This steel hardens structurally during treatment which results in the achievement of considerable hardness. It is used for Wichard 's products requiring high load values. They are marked "HR" in the catalog.
