Wichard designs and manufactures all its own products. It is the originator of innovations that have today become classics: captive pin shackles, sail snaps, quick release snap shackles, etc.
The products are protected and defended under patents or registered designs.
Wichard works continuously with manufacturers and premier off-shore racing teams with innovation in mind. This takes account of functional requirements and aesthetics.

A powerful computer aided design facility enables performance adjustment and optimization of the products to be manufactured.  In 1997, Wichard’s double action safety hook took the "Dame Award" 1st prize at the International Marine Hardware Show in Amsterdam.

Every year Wichard increases the number of items in its catalog.
